The „Volksschule Vorau“ is located in a small village called Vorau near Hartberg in a rural envrionment. It is a so called full-time primary school, that means all children arrive at 8 o’clock in the morning and stay still until 1 p.m. on Mondays and Fridays. But there is the possibity or the pupils to stay in the „Nachmittagsbetreuung“ until 6 pm. Here the children have learning lessons, leisure care and the possibility to eat lunch at school. Our school consists 10 classes and all together we have 170 pupils at our school.

At our school are working 14 teachers and 2 pedagogic assistants, who help some pupils with special needs. One of them is also in school in the afternoon. Members of our staff are also a secretary and a caretaker.

For the second time in succession we were characterized as a sport-friendly school. We are also working in a project called „Brückenjahr“ that means working together with the Kindergarten to create a bridge between Kindergarten and school. Pupils of the future first grades visit our school twice a month and have lessons or projects together with the pupils of our school.

Since 2014 we have worked in several Erasmus⁺ European project with European partnerschools. Now we have 4 projects running at the same time.
